First Paper

(4) History of Indian theater and knowledge of stage lighting.

(5). Information about Dasavatar and its features.

(6) Manipuri dance useful taal and knowledge of instruments.

(7) Manipuri dance from Rabindranath’s point of view.

(8). Detailed study of Ang, Pratyang and Upang.

(9).Knowledge of the following Taal groups – Tritaalmel (8 Matras), Tanchap (4 Matras), Mainkoop (6 Matras), Sulfak (10 Matras), Tanjon (12 Matras), Chautal (14 Matras), Rupak (7 Matras) )

(10). Comparative knowledge of Manipuri and North Indian taal paddhati.

(11). Knowledge of granth related to Manipuri dance.

(12). Knowledge of Manipuri folk dance.

(13). Knowledge of dances of the tribes of the hilly regions of Manipur.

(14). Detailed knowledge of the renewal of Manipuri dance in different kaal of history.

Second Paper

(1). Detailed and critical study-

A: Mathura leela, description of Vrindavan, description of Roop .description of Basant.

B: Basant Raas, Maha Raas, Kuj Raas, Nritya Raas, Gopa Raas, Ulhasaras.

C: Difference between Nayak and Nayika.

D: Proshit Patika, Swadhin Patika.

(2).Detailed study of acting and its four types.

(3). Manipuri dance related to useful posture, ras and bhav.

(4).Origin and development of Raas Mandal.

(5) Biography of famous artists of Manipuri dance and their contribution in the field of art.

(6) Comparison of solo dance, duet dance and group dance.

(7) Relation of lay and taal of classical dance, aadhunik dance and folk dance.

(8). Essay –

  • Raas Nirtya
  • Nirtya mein lay ka sthan.
  • Relation of taal and lay with dance
  • Classical dance and folk dance.
  • Dance and other lalit kala

(9).Guru Rabindranath Tagore‘s views on Manipuri dance

(10). Knowledge of Uttaritaal paddhati and mutual comparative study of Northern Taal paddhati and Manipuri Taals.

(11). General knowledge of Indian classical dances.

(12). Comparative study of religious, classical, folk and jati dances of Manipuri region.

Practical

(1). Mathura Leela, Vrindavan Leela, Practical knowledge of Roop Darshan.

(2). Dance practice based on the poetry written by Maharaj Bhagyachandra, poet Karanpur Goswami, Vaishnava Charandas.

(3) Goshtha Leela (Goplila), Putna slaughter, Vakasur slaughter dance performance.

(4). Practical knowledge of Goshtha Bhagi Parang remaining part.

(5). Ability to perform dance dramas of Rabindranath Tagore, Tasre Desh, Chandalika and Gandha.

(6) Demonstration of lok dances of Madhya India and North India.

(7).Performance of any one of the following dance forms-

             A: Kathak

            B: Bharat Natyam

(8). Ability to dance according to Veer Ras Pradhan or Tandav Bhangi.

(9). Under the syllabus, the ability to perform taal thah and dugun lay, tali, khali.

(10).Complete performance with shlok of the following dances:- Maharaas, Kunjraas, Basantraas, Nitya Raas.

(11). Ability to display ras and bhav.

(12).Ability to dance on the following taals- Teevra, Chautaal, Sulphank

(13). Ability to compose new dance.

(14). Ability to perform various forms of Naga dance.

(15). Knowledge of combined and non-combined postures and their use in Manipuri dance.

(16). Ability to perform hero-heroine distinction.

(17). Practice of Padhant.

Stage performance

(1) Ability to dance efficiently for 30 minutes.
