- Rajendra Prasanna is an Indian classical flute player and shehnai player of the Banaras Gharana. Rajendra was born in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh, India.
- He learned music from his father Raghunath Prasanna and his uncles Bholanath Prasanna and Vishnu Prasanna.
- His family moved to Delhi in the early seventies and he later became a disciple of Hafeez Ahmed Khan and Sarfaraz Hussain Khan. He also took lessons from Banaras Gharana singer Mahadev Mishra.

- He performed at the World Music Festival for the Golden Jubilee Celebrations of India’s Independence held in 1997 at the Edinburgh Festival (UK), Sydney Opera House, WOMAD Festival (Australia, New Zealand), USA, Canada and Switzerland.
