First Paper

(5).Knowledge of costumes and colors of Bharat Natyam, Kathakali, Manipuri, Odissi, Kuchipudi ,Mohini Attam, and Kathak styles.

(6).Knowledge of structure of group and Baile dances.

(7).Study of technical terms of Bharat Natyam style.

(8).Study of four major styles of Indian Dances.

(9).Knowledge of Odissi, Mohini Attam and Kuchipudi dances.

(10).Comparative study of Abhinay Darpan and Bharat Natya Shastra.

(11).Detailed study of Raas Leel and various stories related to Krishna.

(12).Renaissance in Indian Dances.

(13).Knowledge of other dances like Bhagwat Mela, Yakshagana, Chhau etc.

(14).Knowledge of the origin and development of Baile dance and its specialties.

Second Paper

(1).Study of Dakshin Taal paddhati and use of Hindustani Taal with description of Guru, Laghu, Drut and Anudut.

(2).23 Knowledge of disjointed hand gestures and their use in dance.

(3).Detailed study of pracheen  hand gestures.

(4).Knowledge of the history of Indian stage decoration, lighting and costumes etc.

(5).Knowledge of various characteristics of Lasya and Tandav in the context of Bharat Natyam.

(6).Study of the following- dance drama, Opera, Baile dance.

(7).Survey of various musical instruments used in Bharat Natyam from time to time.

(8).Study of Pracheen Granth related to Bharat Natyam dance.

(9).Study of Dashavatars.

(10).Ability to compose new dances on new subjects.

(11).Essay writing ability.

(12).Biography and contribution of modern dance artists. Dhananjay Mrinalini Sara, Bhai E Krishna Iyer, Ram Gopal.

(13).Detailed knowledge of its types by telling about Varnam.

Practical

(1).Ek Jati Swaram in Basant Raag in Rupak Taal of Khand Jati.

(2).Tillana – in Triput taal of Chatastra jati or in Rupak taal of Chatastra jati.

(3).One Padam of Tandav Ang and one Padam of Nayak and Nayika.

(4).A dance performed on the occasion of a special festival in South India.

(5).Practical knowledge of five Indian lok dances.

(6).Practical knowledge of jati and varnam of Tillana.

(7).Practical demonstration of Shlokam, Dashavatara and Navagraha Hastas.

(8). Practice of Padhant.

Stage performance

(1).The candidate has to give the best performance for 45 minutes.
