(1).Comparative study of Bharat Natyam and Kathak dance styles.
(2).Knowledge of Nritya, Nritt and drama.
(3).Elementary knowledge of South Indian taal paddhati. Life history and contribution of the following-
- Meenakshi Sundaram Pillai,
- Vadevelu,
- Chinhaiyya,
- Puniha
 (4).Definition – Nataraj, Lasya, Tandav, Laghu, Drutam, Anudratam, Aadav.
(5).Ability to write all the Taals and Bols of the syllabus in South Indian Taal lipi paddhati.
(6).Knowledge of the following Lok dances: Ghoomar, Garva, Bihu, Bhangra, Kummi.
Practical
(1).Jatiswaram in any South Indian raag with Teestra Jati Triputa Taal.
(2).Shabdam – Raag Malika with Tistra Jati Rupaka Taal.
(3).Any lok dance in the South Indian paddhati.
(4).Sapta Taal, complete knowledge of five jati.
(5). According to South Indian taal paddhati learn taal and ability to recitation Bol.
