First Paper

(1).Complete study of all the terminologies set in the previous years.

(2).Knowledge of make up and dress in Manipuri, Bharat Natyam and Kathakali, Odissi, Kuchipudi dances.

(3).Introduction and general knowledge of all dance styles prevalent in India.

(4).Knowledge regarding Lok dances of Madhya India and their development

(5).Rules for presenting dance drama.

(6).Special study in relation to western dance drama (Belle Dance).

(7).Knowledge of all musical instruments used in Kathak dance from pracheen kaal to aadhunik kaal.

(8).History of change of Indian dance in different kaal.

(9).Study of solo dance, duet dance and group dance, their characteristics and requirements.

(10).Study of Granth on dance (from pracheen to aadunik kaal).

(11).Description of Dashavatar forms of Lord Vishnu.

(12).Introduction, characteristics and contribution of aadhunik dancers.

(13).Knowledge of operation of Ang-Pratyang in Indian dance.

(14). Place of poetry and thumri in Lok dance.

(15).Place of Ras and Bhav in Thumri and Kavit.

(16).Studies in relation to Belle and Aapera.

(17).Knowledge of Tandav and Lasya.

(18).Detailed knowledge about the history of Indian theatre, stage design, electrical system, Rang Bhusha etc.

Second Paper

(1).Acting and its types.

(2).Origin of Taal and its ten Pran.

(3).Special study of Southern Taal paddhati and ability to write Southern Taals in Taal paddhati and Northern Taals in Southern Taal paddhati.

(4). Study in relation to all combined hand gestures of Indian dance

(5).Special knowledge in relation to the following Mudras-Jati Dashavataram, Devi and Devta.

(6).Practice writing Tukda, Paran, Toda, Chakkardar Paran etc. in different Taals.

(7). Comparative study of all taals prescribed in the syllabus.

(8).Essay-

  • Lok nirtya aur shastriya nirtya .
  • Nirtya ke vikas mein vibhinn gharanon ka yogadan.
  • Bhartiya vrandvadan.
  • Bhartiya shastriya nirtya ke Aadarsh,

(9). Importance of Ras and Rang in dance.

(11).Life Introduction:

Practical

(1).In Teentaal –

  • Thr Aamad of two Tistra jati
  • Two Misra jati paran
  • Two Pramalu paran
  • Four kavit.

(2).In Swari(15 matra)Sooltaal and Rupak taal

  • Tatkar and its types
  • An Aamad
  • Five Todo
  • Four Chakkaradar Paran
  • Two Kavit.

(3). Practicing Tatkar, Tukda and Paran in any of the following four taals – Matta(18 Matras), Pancham Sawari (15 Matras), Ashta Mangal (11 Matras), Shikhar (17 Matras), Lakshmi (18 Matras).

(4).Practice of performing the following  Gat Bhav – Draupadi Cheerharan, Ahilya Udvar, Vishwamitra Menaka, Abhisarika etc.

(5).Dance performance with expressions in thumri and bhajan singing.

(6).Demonstration of the following subjects separately in dance.

  • Lasya Tandava
  • Nritya – Nritta – Natya.
  • c)Nayak-Nayika

(7).  Ability to practice recitation of taal of Thah, Dugun, Chaugun, Aad and Biad etc. by Tali Khali on hands and performing dance.

(8).Speaking practice by reciting and demonstrating Paran and Chakkardar Paran of different castes.

(9).Practice recitation by Tali khali on the bol of the Tukda, Paran etc. prescribed in the syllabus.

(10). Ability to read and showing Chakkaradar Paran and Paran of different Jati.

(11).Stage Performance The candidate will have to give a stage performance of 20 minutes.
