(1).Description of origin of 72 thaats by Shudha and Vikrit swar groups and description of origin of 448 raags from one thaat by Vyankat Mukhi.

(2).Detailed explanation about Purva Raag, Uttara Raag, Sandhi Prakash Raag, Aavirbhav-Tirobhav,Alpatva,Bahutva,Types of Taan, Types of Gamak.

(3).Merits and demerits of the singer.

(4).History of Tanpura and Tabla and method of tuning them.

(5).Types of geet  â€“ Dhamar and Tarana.

(6).Complete and comparative study of raag groups prescribed in the syllabus.

(7)Ability to write Dhrupad and Dhamar notation in Thah, Dugun, Tigun and Chaugun Laykari.

(8).Essay on various topics related to sangeet –

  • Shastriya sangeet and Sugam Sangeet.
  • Radio and Sangeet.
  • Jeevan mein Sangeet ka mahtav
  • Sangeet mein taal aur lay ka mahtav
  • Sangeet aichchhik vishay.

(9).Identification of raags by looking at written swar groups.

(10).Ability to write taal groups prescribed in the syllabus in Thah, Dugun, Tigun and Chugun

(11).History of Bhartiy Sangeet.

(12).Life introduction and contribution of the following musicians-

Practical

(1).In all the prescribed raags prescribed in the syllabus, Chota Khayal Alap and different types of Taans (Dhrupad students must know Dhrupad including Vilambit, Dugun, Tigun and Chugun laykari)

(2)Essays should be made in any four of the raags given above in Vilambit Khayal, Jhumra, Tritaal, and Ektaal.

(3).It is necessary to know two Dhrupads, one Tarana and one Dhamar in any raag prescribed for this year.

(4).Dhrupad gayan examinees need to know two Dhamars and one Tarana along with Thah, Dugun, Tigun and Chaugun layakari.

(5).Practice of showing similarity and difference by singing in raags.

(6).Identification of Raags by listening to Alap.

(7).Practice reciting the Theka of the following taals in Tali, Khali, Thah, Dugun, Tigun and Chaugun laykari –

  • Tilwada
  • Jhumra
  • Dhamar
  • Sooltaal
  • Rupak

(8).Practicing singing with Tanpura is essential.
