Kamod raag is believed to have originated from Kalyan thaat. All the swars are used as shudha except for the both Madhayam. Its jati is Wakra -Sampurn. In this raag Pa & Re are Vadi & Samvadi swar .The singing time of this raag is 6 pm to 9 pm(the first part of the night).

Important notes:-

1.It has lots of association of Re Pa. While goes from Rishabh to Pancham firstly coming from Ma to Re With tremors of meend and then goes to pancham. As Sa  MaRe – Pa. It’s remain the association of Re Pe is not be in this.

2.Sometimes komal Ni are used in avaroh to increase fairness of raag similar in Hamir and Kedar. As Sa* Dha Ni Pa. Shudh Ni are use less in this raag.

3.Twira Ma are use less with Pancham in aaroh and Shudh Ma are used in both aaroh and avaroh.

4.Gandhar is never used flat. As Re Ga Ma Pa Dha Ni Sa*. Rather it’s used as Wakra swar. As Ga Ma Pa Ga Ma Re Sa.
