(1).Definition – Sangeet, Swar, Saptak, Aarohi, Avarohi, Sam, Tali, Khali.
(2).Introduction to Shudha and Vikrat swars.
(3).Introduction to Swar malika.
Practical
(1).Practice of five simple Alankars.
(2).Practice of singing the Aaroh, Thah the Avaroh and Dugun of the raag groups prescribed for the course.
Prescribed raag – Bilwal,Yaman,Bhupali.
(3).Out of the following raags, it is necessary to know two Swar malika, one Lakshan geet and one Chhota khayal.
(4).Practice of reciting the followingTaals with Khali ,Tali – Complete introduction of Teentaal, Keharwa and Chautaal.
Note – The examination of scriptures will be oral.
