First Paper

(1).Knowledge of singing style of different types of Orissa Kalpana Sangeet, Dhupada Sangeet, Champu, Chhanda, Bhajan, Kirtan and lok songs etc.

(2). Knowledge of Pracheen and Aadhunik Alap Paddhati.

(3).Knowledge of Jati, Gayan, Raag Lakshan, Alpatva, Bahutva, Nyas, Vinyas, Sanyas, Vidari, Gayaki, Nayaki, Dhupad, Vinyas, Sanyas, Vidari, Gayika,Nayika, Dhupad ka Gyan.

(4). Comparative study of prescribed raags.

(5).The place of Shruti swar vibhajan in different kaal.

(6). Sthan of Sudha and Vikrit swar on the string of Veena.

(7). Knowledge of composition and writing of songs in various laykari.

(8).Shadaj-madhyam and Shadaj Pancham bhav, unity kampan and knowledge of getting number of Aandolan.

(9). Method of presentation of 484 raags with Shudha and Vikrit swar thaat, propounded by Pandit Venkat Mukhi.

(10). Knowledge about Gita Govind and poet Jaydev.

(11). Creation of Orissa mail, Karnatak mail and Hindustani mail paddhati. Knowledge of raag ragini classification.

(12) Essay-

  • Influence of musical gharanas in Indian music.
  • Music and Fantasy Music.
  • Aadhunik music and its future
  • The place of instruments in music.
  • Importance of vocal practice in music.
  • Folk music and regional music.
  • Music of mind
  • Principles of Odissi Music

Practical

(1). Knowledge of difficult swaralipi in singing, singing shudha and with.

(2). Ability to recognize the swar of swar gayan sung by others.

(3). Ability to demonstrate Tirobhav and Aavirbhav in prescribed sam praakrtik ragas.

(4). Performing singing without preparation and presenting the songs by heart in a shudha way according to the expressions and raag of those words.

(5). Ability to sing Tanpura and Mardal.

(6). In addition to the preceding raags, prescribed ragas-

  • Mohana Kalyan
  • Shudha Asavari
  • Kamavardhini
  • Lalit
  • Kedar Tilang
  • Sohini
  • Malhar
  • Todi
  • Pilu

(7). Knowledge of singing fantasy music in Madhya lay.

(8). Thaat with Alap and Taan in the above raags – Aarohi, Aarohi, Jati, Mukhyaang (pakad), prohibited swar and knowledge of Kaal (time of singing).

(9). Ability to sing one dhupada in Ekgun (Thah), Dugun and Chaugun laykari in any one of the above ragas.

(10). In addition to the previous syllabus, the prescribed taal-

In Athtali, Shriman, Mathtala, Thah, Dugun, Tigun and Chaugun laykari.

(11).-

  • Geet Govind, Champu and Chhand, practice singing each.
  • Knowledge of songs and bhajan each of prominent Oriya poets like Salveg, Banamali and Gopal Krishna.
  • Odisha’s self. Two chhand and two chaupaiyan . from the compositions of poets Upendra Bhaj and Deen Krishna etc.

(12). Ability to recognize raags from particular swars.

(13). Practice of Padhant.
