Theory

(1). Complete study of the playing style of different gharanas (like Punjab, Lucknow, Banara and Delhi) of Tabla and Pakhawaj.

(2).Study of Indian musical instruments and their contribution to music.

(3). Study of Karnataka Taal paddhti.

(4) Special study of Bhatkhande and Vishnu Digambar Taal paddhati, their thoughts regarding their errors and amendments.

(5). Importance of ten Paran of Taal in Indian Music.

(6). Comparative study of all taal prescribed from first to fourth year.

(7). Practice of writing Theka of all taals prescribed in the syllabus in Aad, Kuwad, Viad, Laykari.

(8). Essay in relation to Taal, Sangat and Laykari.

(9). Development of Indian percussion instruments, their use, importance.

(10). Relation of Lay-Laykari. Noting down various sam visham laykari.

(11). Knowledge of different stages of independent playing.

(12).Life introduction and their musical contribution of the following music seekers – Pt. Ramshay, Ustad Abid Hussain Khan, Pt. Kishan Maharaj, Gudai Maharaj, Ustad Alla Rakha, Ustad Hubibudin Khan, Pt. Ayodhya Prasad, Parvat Singh Ji, Ghanshyam Parvavji .

(13). Complete knowledge of the principles of Tabla and Pakhawaj.

(14). Knowledge of 10 Varn of Tabla.

(15).Knowledge of the following definitions – Karbi, Atai, Tablachi Parvachi Awasiya Chayati (six types), Prastar, Aadi, Kuwadi, Viyadi, Ativimbit, Anudrut, Lay.

Practical

(1) Practice of playing Rudra, Shikhar, Basant, Swari (16 Matras) and Farodast Taal Theka in different laykari.

(2). Practice of playing Paran, Tukda, Gat etc. in all the taals prescribed from first to fourth year.

(3).Difficult Kaida presentation in Tritaal, Ektaal, Jhaptaal and Adachartaal, practice of playing Tukda and all taals in different laykari  2/3, 3/2, 3/4, 4/3, 4/5, 5/4, Ability to show on hand.

(4). Knowledge of mixing tabla and Pakhawaj.

(5). Practice of playing Tukda in Dhamar, Sooltaal, Basant, Rudra, Shikhar Taal, Teevra on Pakhawaj.

(6). Practice of playing Lehra in Ektaal, Jhaptaal and Rupak Taal.

(7). Practice of recitation in different laykari  by showing Tali Khali on the Theka  hand of all the taals prescribed in the syllabus.

(8).Practice of accompaniment with vocal and instrumental music.

(9).Detailed study of the following taals for tabla independent playing – Basant Matra), Ektaal, Adachartaal.

(10). In taals of detailed study, four different types of Kayda for tabla, four beautiful  Sada Tukda including two types of Rela and Tihai, four Chakkaradar Tukda, Paran etc. In taals for Pakhawaj, simple Chakkaradar Paran, four Farmaishi, Kamali ki Paran etc. Study of Chala, Rela etc.

(11).For general studies-showing different types of rhythms in Farodast, Deepchandi, Jhumra, Kumbh talas.

(12). Syllabus Knowledge of playing waves in taals of different matras.

(13). Bol ,Padhant and performing different types of laykari in the taal of the curriculum.

(14). Knowledge of accompaniment with singing, playing, dancing.

(15).Knowledge of playing Laggi and Ladiya in Keharwa and Dadra Taal.
