Theory
(1).Definition of the following- Naad (Aahat-Anahat), Shruti, Sanchari and Geet Ka Aabhog, Janak Thaat, Janya Raag, Ashraya Raag, Grah, Ansh, Nyas, Wakra Swar, Purva Raag, Uttara Raag.
(2). Knowledge of singing styles like Odissi Geet (Kalpana Sangeet), Champu Geet, Chhand Geet, Bhajan Geet, Dhrupad etc.
(3).Description and comparison of prescribed raags.
(4). Difference between the following-
- Mail and Thaat
- Shruti and Swar.
- Taan and Alap.
- Naad and Shruti.
- Taal and Lay.
- Knowledge of vocal Paddhati of Odissi songs.
Practical
(1)Practice of Alap, Taan, Gitakshar taan in Vilambit and practice of singing in the Madhya lay of any fantasy music.
(2).Practice of singing komal and Tiwra swar.
(3).In addition to the pre-course, practice of difficult Alankar in prescribed raags in Thah, Dugun, Tigun and Chaugun lay.
(4).Prescribed raags –
- Shuddhadesi
- Jaunpuri
- Mukhari
- Desh
- Sudhasaveri
- Tilak Kamod
- Sarang
- Dhanashree (Bajrakanti)
- Sindura.
(5).In the above raags, one Odissi fantasy music and one Odia song with Taan and Alap.
(6).In addition to the taal of the previous course, taal -Kuduk jati and Math Taal.
(7).Knowledge of clapping on hands in Dugun lay to each tali.
(8).Geet Govind, Champu, Chhand and Bhajan, one song each in the above raags.
(9).Ability to identify Raags and Taals with special swaras or bols. A characteristic song or sargam song.
(10).A Prabandha song in raags.
(11).Reading of taals of the syllabus in Thah Dugun and Chaugun Laykari.
