Important Notes

  • There is a possibility of the shade of vermilion raag coming in the ascension, but in the avaroh both get separated from vermilion by the use of Gandhar.
  • Similarly, with the use of Dha Ni Ga Re, there is a possibility of feeling of Jaijavanti, but in this Raag gets separated from Jaijavanti by abundance of Komal Gandhar. Shudha Gandhar is in abundance in Raag Jaijavanti and Komal Gandhar is less.
  • In Raag Nilambari, on the contrary, Komal Gandhar is in abundance and shudha Gandhar is less. Panchama voice is weak in avaroh even though it is conversational.
  • Some scholars have considered Pancham as a plaintive voice in this. This is not appropriate because first of all it is Purvanga predominant Raag and secondly, PanchaMa is weak in descending. In any Raag, the plaintive voice is not weak.
