- Introduction to Shudha and Vikrat swars.
- General knowledge about his musical instrument.
- General knowledge of raag groups prescribed for the syllabus.
Practical
- Five simple Alankaars.
- Practice of playing the raag groups prescribed for the course in Aarohi, Avarohi, Villbit and Dugun Lay.
- Practice of playing the following Raag groups gat in the Madhay Lay – (with one Toda and without one Toda)
- Raags –Â Bilwal,Yaman,Bhupali.
- Complete introduction of Dadra and Teentaal and practice of recitation of Taal by showing clapping, Khali.
- Note – The test of theory will be oral.
