Important Notes-

• Melodious raag Hemshree is composed by Acharya Vishwanath Rao Ringe ‘Tanrang’. The basic structure of this raga is similar to that of Tilang, but Gandhara Komal is used in it, which adds to the beauty of this raag.

• In raag Tilang, rishabh is sparingly used as a discordant swara, whereas in raag Hemashri, Rishabh (and Dhaivat) are completely avoided.

• The notes of Raag Hemshree are also similar to Raag Dhani – Gandhara and Nishad are soft in Raag Dhani, but in Raag Hemshree, Gandhara is komal and Nishad both sound komal and shudha. From which the raga Hemshree can be distinguished.

• Raga Hemshree is a night raag and the nature of this raag is fickle. This raag can be expanded in all the three octaves. These accompaniments represent the form of Raag Hemshree.
