1. Kaunsi Kanada raag sung in two way – Malkauns and Bageshwari way. Kaushi of Malkauns is very popular. That’s why this type of description is being done here.
2.It’s clear from name this is type of Kanhda. The combination of malkauns and kanhda is known as kausi of Malkauns Ang and the combination of Bageshwari and Kanhda is known as Kausi of Bageshwari Ang. First type is kept under Asavari thaat and second Kaphi thaat . Because in the first type Ga(k), Dha(k), Ni(k) and in the second type Ga(k), Ni(k) swar are used as komal. The jati of Kausi of Bageshwari ang is considered Sampurn Sampurn.
3.This raag having Malkaunsh is in utrang and Kanhda is in purvang .
4.This is raag of serious nature and it’s playing and singing in all three octaves equally.
5.This is not raag of thumri. Dhrupad, Dhamar, Khayal and Tarana are sang in this raag.
6.Due to kanhda in purvang , Gandhar is used as Vakra in avaroh . Pancham also used as Vakra in avaroh.
7.Gandhar is used in two way. When Gandhar take from Malkauns way then it’s use straight and when Gandhar take from Kanhada way then used as vibrate and vakra .
