Early Life-

  • Nana Panse got the initial education of Pakhawaj from his father. From childhood, he used to do beautiful company of bhajan-kirtan in the temples.
  • Fortunately, once he had to go to Kashi with his father for the company of Kirtan-Bhajan.

Career –

  • Nana Panse moved from Kashi to Indore. Indore Naresh appointed you in his court.
  • He was deeply impressed by your pakhavaj-playing, scholarship and simple nature and wanted you from his heart.
  • Once the then Gwalior King Jiyaji Rao came to Indore. When he heard Nana Panse’s playing, he was very impressed and proposed to appoint him in Gwalior court on higher salary.
  • Indore Naresh on the one hand and maternal grandfather. Didn’t want to leave Panse and on the other hand didn’t want to displease his friend, so Indore King left the burden of its decision on Nana Panse.
  • He expressed his inability to leave Indore and remained there for the rest of his life.
  • Nana Panse improved his art by staying in Indore.
  • Studied modern and ancient texts of music and decorated his education from the point of view of mathematics.
  • Made new contracts for many locks and made new creations of Paran. He was very simple, humble and soft spoken by nature.
  • He had no pride at all for his knowledge and practice. He used to praise every artist, whether big or small, and never insulted anyone. You had the ultimate place among the contemporary musicians. He was very generous in education donation, so he produced many famous artists like-

  • Shankar Bhaiya Panse
  • Pandit Shankar Rao Alkutkar
  • Along with Pakhawaj, he was well versed in tabla and dance. He was deeply saddened by the death of his young son and went to heaven while serving the music world in the second half of the nineteenth century.
