Important Notes –
- This is an ancient type of Sarong which is not much in vogue at present. The tone of this raag appears due to the use of Dhaivat and Komal Gandhar in the avaroh of Raag Vrindavani Sarang.
- Komal Gandhar can be used in this raag in such a way as – Dha Pa Re Ga(k)Re Sa – Desi like or Re Ga(k)Re Sa – Jayjaywanti like.
- Dha Ni(k) Pa is used very rarely and Dhaivat is also used only occasionally.
- In some gharanas, washing is prohibited even in avaroh. Similarly, in some gharanas only Komal Nishad is used instead of both the Nishads. These vocal accompaniments reflect the form of Raag Lanka Dahan Sarang.
