Introduction
• Dhumsa is a tabla instrument made of wood, metal, iron and leather. This folk instrument is found in West Bengal and Orissa.
Use
• Giant cup-shaped hollow wooden body, covered with metal sheets. The face of the drum is covered with thick hide and bound with leather bracing. It is played with two sticks and is used in the ‘Purulia Chhau’ dance of West Bengal.
