Chandrakant Raag is believed to have originated from Kalyan thaat. In this raag Madhyam is used as tiwra and all remaining swar are used as shudha.Ma is not used in aaroh and all the seven swars are used in the avaroh,so its jati is Shadav-Sampurn(6,7). In this raag Ga & Ni are Vadi & Samvadi swar .The singing time of this raag is 6 pm to 9 pm(the first part of the night).

Important notes-

This is an obsolete raga, due to the association of Ga Pa in the ascension, the shade of Jait raag comes, but by using intense medium in it, it gets separated from Jait.

Like welfare, in this also the company of others is shown again and again. Being Purvanga Pradhan Raag, it is played especially in Madra and Madhya Saptaks.

The shadow of Bhupali, Jait, Jait Kalyan and Shuddha Kalyan ragas comes in it. To avoid these, use sharp medium, ignore most of the Pa in the avaroh and use Dha Ma(t) etc,.
