Bhav Sangeet

Practical

(1). Swara Gyan – Practice of singing and recognizing 7 Shudha and 5 Vikrit swars, special attention to swar uchcharan.

(2) Lay Gyan – General knowledge of Vilambit, Madhya, Drut and Thah, Dugun and Chaugun lay. Practice of singing 7 swars by tali on each matra in these three lay. Knowledge of various simple matra vibhajan , such as tali two points of half/half matra or two swar in one matra, four points of quarter/fourth matra or four swar tali in one matra.

(3). Practice of ten simple Alankar.

(4).Practice singing a Bhav Sangeet “S Cheez with Durat Khayal in Bilawal, Yaman, Kafi, Khamaj, Bhupali, Bhairav ​​and Bhairavi.

(5).Simple vocal expansion in Alhaiya Bilawal, Yaman, Bhupali, Kafi, Khamaj, Bhairav ​​and Bhairavi and one song or bhajan in these. Practice harmonizing with the tabla by taking simple Alap.

(6).Complete practice of singing at least 5 bhav songs or bhajans. There is no special need for raag pradhanata. The swar of the song or bhajan should be according to the spirit of the poem. Practice singing two types of lok sangeet.

(7).Practicing recitation in Thah and Dugun lay by following the notes of Keharwa, Dadra, Teentaal and Jhaptaal.

(8). Raag identification by simple Alaps.

Theory

(1). Definition – Sangeet, two main Sangeet paddhati of India, Dhwani, Origin of Dhwani, Naad, Naad Sthana, Shruti, Swar, Prakrit Swar, Achal and Chal swar, Shudha and Vikrit  swar, Komal and Tiwra swar, Saptak (Mandr,Madhya, Tar), Thaat, Raag, Varan(Sthai , Aarohi , Avarohi , Sanchari) Alankar (Palta), Raag,Jati and types of Jati, Vadi, Samavadi, Anuvadi,Varjit swar, Pakad, Alap, Taan, Khayal, Sargam, Sthai, Antra, Lay, Types of Lay, Matra, Taal, Vibhag, Sam, Tali, Khali, Theka, Aavartan, Thah and Dugun. Definition and distinction of Bhajan and Geet, types of songs and their interpretation, such as Gram Geet (Lok Geet, Aadhunik Geet, National Geet etc.) Definition of Kan, Khatka, Murki and Meend.

(2). Raag Introduction – Complete introduction to the raags of the syllabus.

(3).Taal Introduction – Complete introduction to the taals of the syllabus and practice of writing them in Thah and Dugun.

(4). Knowledge of Bhatkhande Swarlipi paddhati.

(5). Chord recognition by written swar clusters.

(6) Biography of Vishnu Digambar and Bhatkhande and description of their musical works.
