Bhav Sangeet Junior Diploma 2nd Year Syllabus In English

Bhav Sangeet

Practical

(1).Swar Gyan – Special knowledge of singing and recognizing shudha and vikrit swars. Practice recognizing some simple swar groups.

(2) Lay Gyan – Special practice of all the topics related to lay given in the previous year.

(3). Practice singing by tali  the swar with some difficult matra Vibhajan, such as recitation 2 matras in 2 and 3 in 3 matras.

(4) Special practice of singing Alankars in previous year’s Thaats. There should be some new and difficult Alankar this year.

(5). Knowledge of Bhimpalasi, Bageshree, Vrindavani Sarang, Desh, Asavari, Bihag and Durga, simple swar vistar and a chota khyal in each.

(6) Practice of combine simple Alap and simple Taan with tabla in any four khyal.

(7). Complete exercise of at least 5 songs of Surdas, Meerabai, Tulsidas and Kabir and at least 5 songs of some Aadhunik poets. Special attention to the beauty of his vocal composition according to the mood of bhajan and songs. There is no special requirement for the purity of raags.

(8). Practice of singing one Dhrupad in any raag of the year including Thah, Dugun and Chaugun.

(9). Practice of singing one Holi, one Kajri and two lok songs.

(10). Knowledge of Chartaal, Ektaal, Rupak and Teevra and the knowledge of recitation by tali their Thah, Dugun and Chaugun.

(11). Raag recognition.

(12). Correctness of swar uchcharan.

Theory

(1). Definition and simple explanation – Dhwani, origin of Dhwani, Kampan , Aandolan (Niyamit ,Aniyamit , Sthir, Asthir Aandolan), Aandolan Sankhya, three characteristics of Naad, Relation of Naad to Aandolan Sankhya, Naad & Shruti, types of Geet  – Bada Khayal, Chota Khayal, Dhrupad, Lakshan geet and their components (Sthai, Antara, Sanchari, Abhog), Janak Thaat, Janya Raag, Ashraya Raag, Grah, Ansh, Nyas, Wakra Swar, Samay and Saptak PoorvangUttarang, Relation of Vadi Swar with time of raag, Purva and Uttara raag, Tigun, Chaugun, Meend, Particle, Sparsh Swar and Wakra Swar. Definition of Gamak, Gitkiri, Vishranti, Chhut and Pukar.

(2) Introduction to raags – Complete introduction to raags of first and second year and knowledge of writing things learned in them in swarlipi.

(3).Taal Introduction – Complete introduction of Taals of both the years and practice of writing them in Thah, Dugun and Chaugun.

(4). Knowledge of Bhatkhande Swar lipi paddhati.

(5). Raag recognition by written swar group.

(6).Knowledge of telling equality and difference in similar raags.

(7). Life introduction of Tansen and Amir Khusro.

(8). Difference between Aadhunik sangeet, Bhav sangeet, film music, songs, bhajans, light songs, mass music and Lok sangeet music.
