Important Notes-

  • This raag is very effective and attractive. When pure Dhaivat is used in place of komal Dhaivat of raag Malkaus, then raag Sunderkaus is originated.this community of swars (Sa Ga(k)Ma Dha Ni(k)Sa* – Sa* Ni(k)Dha Ma Ga(k)Sa) It is rarely sung in the name of Raag Chandrakaus (Bageshree Ang).
  • In the opinion of Acharya Tanrang ji, the above naming of raag (Chandrakaus (Bageshree Ang)) seems to be inappropriate because in the above swara community, the nishad used in raag Chandrakaus is not used as shudha, as well as Bageshree Ang in the avaroh. – Sa* Ni(k)Dha Ma प Dha Ma Ga(k)रे Sa is also aaroh. And because of this wrong nomenclature, this raag (Chandrakaus (Bageshree Ang)) could not become more popular.
  • But seeing the beauty of this raag, Acharya Tanrang ji named this raag Sunderkaus and composed many restrictions. In this raag, along with Madhyama and Shadja, pause is also made on Shuddha Dhaivat. Due to the presence of shudha Dhaivat, this raag is less serious than Malkauns. This raag can be expanded in all the three octaves.
