Saraswati raag is believed to have originated from Kalyan thaat. Madhyam is used as tiwra ,Nishad is used as komal and all remaining sawars are shudha in this raag. Ga is not used in this raag and Ni is not used only aaroh . Its jati is Audav- Shadav(5,6). In this raag Pa & Re are Vadi & Samvadi swar .The singing time of this raag is 9 pm to 12 am (the second part of the night).
