Introduction
- Pung is a percussion instrument made of softwood, parchment, leather and cotton. This traditional musical instrument is found in Manipur.
- A hollow cylindrical drum of softwood, both faces covered with parchment, black loading affixed to both ends.
- Parchment is tied with leather straps. A cotton belt is tied to the straps with the help of a brass ring.
- A thin white cloth is wrapped around the body. slung horizontally across the neck and played with both hands.
