Theory

First Paper

(1).Origin of theater(according to Bharat), use of theater and purpose of theatre.

(2).Definition of Navras.

(3).Four divisions of the Nayak-Dhiroddhat, Dhirallit, Dhirodatta, Dhiraprashant.

(4).Four types of Nayika and their definitions, Abhisarika, Khandita, Vipralabdha and Proshitapatika.

(5).The story of the incarnations of Matsya, Varah, Kurma and Narasimha from Dashavatar and their postures.

(6).Explanation of the ten Pranas of Taal.

(7).Knowledge of Bharatanatyam, Manipuri and Kathakali dance. Knowledge of their costumes and instruments.

(8).Transcribing Teentaal, Jhaptaal, Dhamar in Aamad, Bedam Tihai, Farmaishi Paran and Chakkardar Paran, Tipalli and Kavitta.

Second Paper

(1).Definition of the execution of Ras, Sthai Bhav,Bhav,Vibhav,Anbhav, Vyabhichari  etc.

(2).Knowledge of the following terminological terms- Tipalli, Kavitt, Farmaishi Paran, Kamali Paran, Bedam Tihai, Tribhang, Sudhang, Lag- Dant, Anulom, Pratilom, Bhramari, Nyas- Vinyasa.

(3).Explanation of the following song types used in Kathak dance: Ashtapadi, Dhrupad, Thumri, Chaturanga, Trivat, Tarana, Chaiti, Kajri, Hori.

(4).Contribution of Nawab Wajid Ali Shah and Maharaja Chakradhar Singh of Raigarh in Kathak dance.

(5).Lipibanddh of Aamad, Tihai, Toda, Chakkdar Paran and Kavitt etc.

(6).Biographies:-

Practical

(1).Saraswati Vandana.

(2).In addition to Teental, special preparation is done in Jhaptaal.

(3).Gajjhampa or Choti Swari(Pancham Swari) and performance of Theke Thah, Dugun, Thaat, Aamad, Do Toda, Ek Paran and Ek Kavitt in Ras and Dhamar.

(4).Gat Nikas; Types of Ghunghat, Nav,Aanchal. Gatbhav: Performance of all the Gatbhav of previous years and Draupadi Cheerharan.

(5).Thumri Bhav (Knowledge of words, Rag, Lay required).

(6).A Tarana or Trivat in any taal.

(7).Reading of all the bol by clapping hands.

(8).Gatbhav on Abhisarika, Khandita, Vipralabdha and Proshitpati  nayika or related verses or dance on Thumri.

(9).Ladi or Chalan in the Teen taal or Jhaptaal.

(10).Shloka of Abhinay Darpan “Aangik Bhuvan Yasya”.

(11).Showing feelings on the poem or bhajan  of any two saint poets other than the previous saint poets and introducing both the saint poets.

Stage performance

Independent stage performance compulsory (20 to 30 minutes).
