Important Notes-

() It is an Uttarang pradhan raag. Its trend is in the Uttar ang of the middle octave and in the chord octave.

(2) Its movements are agile. That’s why people rarely sing Vilambit Khayal in it.

(3) The raag of the Purvi thaat are sung from the main two parts – from the Sri Ang and from the Purvi Ang. Paraj is sung from the Purvi organ.

(4) We have told that both Madhayam are used in this. Often the tiwra Madhayam is used in the aaroh and the shudha Madhayam  is used in the avaroh. In this, the is tiwra Madhayam taken from Basant and the shudha Ma is taken from Kalinga.

(5) By looking at the form of Paraj, it is known that it is a mixed form of Kalingada and Basant – Kalingada in the east and Spring in Uttarang. To avoid Kalingada, Dha Pa Ga Ma.Ga.
