Uthan in Tabla –
An Uthan in Tabla literally means ‘act of rising’. In the tradition of Tabla solo performance, it is normally played at the beginning.
In rhythm , there are bols , matras and partitions .When tabla player play any rhythm on tabla . Some bols in set matras and partitions with taali and khali have to maintain , a large type of taal piece which is used at the beginning of playing solo in the purab baaj and at the beginning of the dance is called uthan .
It is played in dance. The uthan is small and big, the small uthan is also called Mukhra. They meet Sama in playing the song by playing small uthan.

Firstly see teen taal have 16 matras with four partitions in it .
