Description of raag deshkar:-

Thaat- bilawal

Varjit swar- Ma and Ni

Jati- Audav-audav(5-5)

Vadi-Samvadi swar- Dha and Ga

Gayan samay- din ka dusra prahar

Aaroh- Sa, Re Ga Pa, Dha Sa*

Avaroh- Sa*, Dha, Pa, Ga Pa, Dha Pa, Ga Re Sa.

Pakad- Ga Pa Dha Pa Dha

Important notes:-

1. To avoid bhupali raag mostly Re is excluded in aroh of deshkaar raag.
2. This is utarang pradhan raag and mostly playing and singing in utrang of middle octave and higher octave.
3. Pancham and tar shadaj are very shine in this raag.
4. Some singers also associate with Pa Re, but most singers oppose it in this raag.
5. It’s blossom in Ga Pa, Ga Pa Dha Pa Dha, Pa Dha Sa*, Dha Pa Dha group of swar due to vadi and utrang pradhan Dha.

Swar of nyas- Pa, Dha  and higher Sa.

Isotype raag- bhupali.

Bhupali- Ga Pa, Dha Pa Ga, Pa Ga, Sa Re, Dha Sa.

Deshkaar- Ga Pa, Dha Pa Dha, Pa, Ga Pa, Ga Re Sa.
