Important notes:-

.None of the author’s have explain darbari kanhda apart from bhav bhatt. Bhav bhatt was a contemporary of shahjahan. Karnat is explain in other sanskrit granth. It’s seems like this deterioration gets kanhda. Now question is this when was darbari word added. It’s clear from the darbari word this is medieval word. Is said to be tansen sang kanhda raag in new way front of akbar called karnat at that time. He like them a lot hence tansen sang this raag again and again therefore it’s know as darbari kanhda.

.Gandhar are curve used in both aaroh and avroh and dhevat in only avroh. Some singers do not use dhevat and believe in this is raag of sampoorn – shadav jati. If dhevat is not use then ghandhar will be not use hence it should be considered raag of wakra sampoorn jati.

.Koaml gandhar of darbari is deferent from soft gandhar of other all raag. It’s gandhar is very soft on one side and on other hand it’s keep agitated. Agitation with the help of rishabh, as – Sa Re Re Ga(k) – Ga(k) – Rega – Resa  Re Sa. Sometimes Ma Ga(k) Ma Sa Re Sa is used without agitation of gandhar. Dhevat is also agitated like gandhar, as – Ni(k) Dha(k) – Ni(k) Dha(k) – Ni(k) Pa. Gandhar and dhevat never straight used.

There are 18 types of kanhda. As nayki kanhda, suha, sughrai, adana, sahana etc. Darbari kanhda is base raag of these. Ma Ga Ma Re Sa And Ni(k) Dha(k) Ni(k) Pa is known as swar of kanhda.

.This raag play in first and middle octaves mostly. Hence this raag is more suitable for men’s.

.The tones take from sarang organ in this raag.  Ga(k) Ma Re Sa And Dha(k) Ni(k) Pa kanhda organ are used between sarang organ. So that’s darbari kanhda clear.

.This is allap raag. Delayed allap is more suitable on this raag.

.Association of Dha(k) Ni(k) Pa and Ga(k) Ma Re Sa is more show due to curvature of gandhar and dhevat.

Swar of nyas- Sa, Re And Pa.
